Devonport Christmas Parade - Can You Help?

The DCS Community is excited to once again participate in the Devonport Christmas Parade, bringing our school community together to create another memorable celebration of the Christmas season.

This year's parade will be held on Sunday 6th December, with the official commencement time still to be confirmed.

For 2026, we are delighted to be showcasing two floats. One float will celebrate our Secondary school's production of Frozen Jr, while the second will depict the Nativity, reflecting the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus.

To make this vision happen, we are seeking the assistance of a truck driver with a suitable trailer. The trailer would need to provide a safe platform for our Secondary students to be seated during the parade procession.

We are also seeking around 30 square hay bales to decorate our parade floats. We understand hay can be hard to source this time of year, but if you know a local supplier or someone that may be willing to donate, we would love to hear from you. If needed, DCS Community is happy to offer compensation.

If you are able to assist, or would like more information, please contact Jasmin Thompson via email (jasmin.thompson@dcs.tas.edu.au), or Facebook: Jasmin at DCS.

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our school community and look forward to creating another wonderful parade experience together. We can't wait to share the joy and message of Christmas with the wider community!

Community Pantry Is Now Open!

At Devonport Christian School, we believe that community means caring for one another in practical ways.

The DCS Community Pantry has been established to support families by providing free food and pantry essentials to those who may need some additional help. We hope this space reflects God's love through kindness, generosity, and compassion.

The pantry is available to all DCS families and is located in the JILOA Kitchen. It is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.

If you would like to donate items or learn more about the Community Pantry, please speak with our Community Team at the Front Office.
