You're Invited – Kew HS Community Gardening & Sewing Bee

Kew High School warmly invites primary school students and their families to join us for our Community Gardening & Sewing Bee on Sunday 21 June, from 9am – 12pm.

As part of the morning, Kew Eco Crew students will be hosting a special Worm Tower Treasure Hunt from 11:00am–11:30am, designed especially for primary school-aged children between 5 – 12 years old. This fun, hands-on activity will take primary students on an adventure around the school to discover Kew High School’s network of 13 worm towers and learn how they help turn food scraps into healthy, nutrient-rich soil.

Best of all, five lucky schools will win a Greenlife Worm Tower (valued at $32 each!) to take back to their primary school to plant!

Prospective and future families are warmly welcome to arrive earlier than 11am and take part in our Community Gardening & Sewing Bee, where students, parents, carers, staff, alumni and friends of the school will work together to rejuvenate gardens and upcycle uniform (in the library) – you could bring an unwanted piece of your child’s primary uniform to upcycle!

Morning tea will be provided to volunteers from 11:30am–12pm so future and prospective families are also very welcome to share morning tea in the library after the Worm Tower Treasure Hunt.

RSVP is essential so please email Elise Dunstan at Elise.DUNSTAN@kew.vic.edu.au by Thursday 18 June noting any special dietary reqs for morning tea.

The Kew Eco Crew would love to meet, connect and inspire the next generation of sustainability leaders!
