StreetSmarts AFL Queensland Schools Cup
Congratulations to our Senior Boys AFL team, who competed in the StreetSmarts AFL Queensland Schools Cup on Tuesday. The team demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and determination throughout the day, finishing strongly with a close match against Bentley Park.
A sincere thank you to Mr Hanlon for his leadership and commitment as coach, and to Mrs Tillett for her support across the day.
Good luck to our Senior Girls AFL team, who will be the final group representing the College in the StreetSmarts Gala Day on Tuesday, 2 June. We wish the team and Mr Podolczak the very best in their upcoming competition.
Cairns Running Festival
St Mary's is once again participating in the Cairns Running Festival on Sunday, 12 July. Students, staff and community members of all running abilities are invited to join our College Team and celebrate active living and community spirit as we walk, jog and run along our beautiful Cairns Esplanade.
Off the back of winning the largest participating school in 2025, we are hoping to show up in even bigger and better numbers this year and paint the town maroon and green! Upcoming Events
Athletics Carnival - Monday, 22 June 2026
We are looking forward to our upcoming Athletics Carnival at Barlow Park, a fantastic opportunity for students to demonstrate school spirit, teamwork, and participation. Students are encouraged to get involved, support their house, and enjoy a great day of competition and community. The theme for this year's carnvial is "Running through time", with each house having a specific era to dress in. We encourage all students to show house spirit and get involved.
