Dear Parents, Families and Friends,
It has been another busy and enjoyable few weeks at St Mary’s, with many opportunities to celebrate our students, families and wider community. Our recent Father’s Day celebration was a wonderful morning and a great example of the strong community spirit that continues to define St Mary’s. It was fantastic to see so many fathers, grandfathers and significant male role models join us for breakfast, our liturgy, aerobics and the students’ leatherwork activity. Thank you again to everyone who helped make the morning such a positive occasion.
As we approach the end of Term 3, I would also like to acknowledge the continued efforts of our students and staff. It has been a busy term, with many learning opportunities, excursions, celebrations and community events taking place. I thank our staff for their ongoing commitment to ensuring our students continue to receive rich and meaningful learning experiences, and I encourage everyone to finish the term on a positive note.
This week we also recognise R U OK? Day, an important reminder to check in with the people around us. While this day provides a particular focus, looking out for one another is something we encourage throughout the year. Sometimes a simple conversation and genuinely asking, “Are you OK?” can make an important difference.

Next week, Franceen Innes will conclude her time at St Mary’s after 25 years of dedicated service to our school community. This is a significant milestone and an opportunity to recognise Franceen's extraordinary contribution over more than two decades. Throughout her time at St Mary’s, Franceen has supported generations of students, families and staff and has been a constant, trusted and generous presence within our school. Her kindness, compassion, faith and willingness to serve others have been evident in everything she has done.
Franceen’s impact is evident in the countless relationships she has built and in the many students whose lives she has enriched through her patience, encouragement, and genuine care. She has always approached her work with humility and a willingness to do whatever was needed to support others, without seeking recognition. As a school community, we thank Franceen for the remarkable contribution she has made and for the loyalty and heart she has given to St Mary’s. We hope Franceen leaves knowing just how deeply valued she has been and how enduring her legacy will remain within our school community.

Save the Date – St Mary’s Farewell and Thanksgiving Mass
As we look towards the end of the year, we are beginning preparations for a very significant occasion for our school community — the St Mary’s Farewell and Thanksgiving Mass.
The Mass will be held on Sunday, 22 November at 10:30 am, followed by lunch and refreshments.
This will be an opportunity for current and past students, families, staff, parishioners and friends of St Mary’s to come together to give thanks for the rich history of our school, celebrate the many people who have contributed to its story and recognise the lasting legacy St Mary’s has had within the Inglewood community.
We hope as many members of our current and past school community as possible will be able to join us for this important occasion. Further information will be shared as arrangements are finalised.
