Term 2 - Week 6
Dear Families
We’ve reached the halfway point of term, and the weather continues to suprise. I can’t remember such a mild autumn since moving to Central Victoria. Let’s hope the icy mornings hold off a little longer.
This week a legend of AFL and champion for the MND (Motor Neuron Disease) foundation – Neale Daniher – passed away after a long fight. Neale leaves a legacy of extraordinary courage, humility and hope. Through his tireless advocacy and the founding of initiatives such as FightMND, he inspired a nation to stand together, raising vital funds and awareness to support research and those living with the disease. Despite his own diagnosis, Neale chose to lead with strength and optimism, showing us all what it means to live with purpose and dignity. His impact will be felt for generations, not only in the progress toward a cure, but in the way he brought people together with compassion, determination and belief that we can make a difference.
National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June 2026)

As we celebrate National Reconciliation Week, our school community comes together to acknowledge the past, celebrate the world’s oldest living cultures, and commit to building a future grounded in respect and unity.
This year’s theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation is a shared responsibility — every student, teacher, family, and community member has a role to play.
Throughout the week, students are exploring First Nations histories and cultures, engaging in meaningful conversations about reconciliation, and participating in activities that foster understanding and connection. Together, we commit to being all in for reconciliation, now and always.
School Hours
Please note that the schoolyard is unsupervised before 8:30 am. There are still many children on the grounds prior to this time and there is no teacher on duty.
For the safety of your children, I ask that they are not dropped off at school before 8:30am.
Catholic School Parents Victoria
Catholic School Parents Victoria (CSPV) has launched a new website (link below) which is a great resource for parents. CSPV supports families as partners in their child’s learning by strengthening home/school connections and providing clear information, guidance, and advocacy, so parents feel informed, empowered, and engaged in their child’s school journey. Please feel free to visit their new website at https://cspv.catholic.edu.au/ or visit their Facebook page.
2027 Enrolment Information
We have greatly enjoyed welcoming prospective families to our recent school tours and enrolment information opportunities as part of the 2027 enrolment process. It has been wonderful to share all that makes St Kilian's Primary School such a vibrant, welcoming and supportive learning community.
We look forward to welcoming many new students and families to our school community in 2027 and thank all families who have taken the time to visit, ask questions, and explore what our school has to offer. Enrolment applications are currently being finalised, with enrolment offers and acceptances to be sent out from 6 June.
Families with siblings are reminded to complete the online enrolment application via our school website: St Kilian’s Primary School – Enrolment Application.
New Playground & Landscaping
We are currently awaiting confirmation of the completion timeline and will provide further information to families as soon as it becomes available. Landscaping plans are underway to complete this new area and provide a new entrance to our school. Below is an artist's impression of the proposed view from the St Kilian’s Parish carpark.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work towards delivering this exciting addition to our learning and play spaces.

McAuley Refurbishment Project
The McAuley Refurbishment Project is progressing well and still on track for completion later in August. After moving into the McAuley building, Searle Bros. Builders will move to Stage 2 of the build – redesigning the current reception and creating a new Art learning space.

Parents & Friends Association
