Acting Principal's Message

Mother's Day Celebrations

The Josephinum was packed to the rafters on Friday 8th May, as we gathered for a beautiful Mother’s Day celebration and morning tea picnic. Our Foundation and Year 6 students led us in a heartfelt prayer and assembly, reminding us of the love, care and gratitude we hold for the special women in our lives.

Classrooms were buzzing with excitement as students carefully created beautiful tiaras fit for queens, ready to crown their mothers and special guests.

Although the weather was a little chilly, the warmth, love and joy shared throughout the morning certainly warmed our hearts.

Thank you to all of our mums, grandmothers, carers and special guests who joined us and made the morning so memorable. We are so grateful to celebrate with you.

St. Joseph's the Worker Mass

On Friday 1st May, the school community gathered together in faith to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. This special Mass reminds us of the dignity of work, the importance of serving others with humility and love, and the example St. Joseph set through his quiet strength, faith and dedication to family and community. As a school bearing his name, this celebration holds deep significance for our community and our Mercy values.

The celebration was reverent and prayerful, with beautiful singing filling the church throughout the Mass. Our students participated with great respect and confidence through their readings, prayers and responses, reflecting the spirit of our faith.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Allen and Mrs Nye for their preparation and organisation of such a meaningful celebration for our school community.

New Build Update

The staff have been collaborating with the architects of the new build. We are currently in the sketch plan phase. We can't wait to bring the designs to you soon!

Fete Money

For the past five years, funds raised through our school Fete have directly supported the enhancement of student learning, wellbeing and play spaces across the school. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and ongoing support of our families and wider community.

A key priority for St. Joseph’s School, Cobram is ensuring that every dollar raised is reinvested into projects, equipment and resources that students and families can see, touch and utilise in their everyday school life. These contributions have helped create engaging, welcoming and modern learning environments for all students.

Fete fundraising has proudly contributed to:

  • Pirate Ship playground
  • Outdoor furniture
  • Shade sails
  • Plumbed drinking stations
  • Classroom and library furniture
  • Adventure playground upgrade
  • Classroom Smart TVs
  • Sports equipment
  • Gazebos
  • Shipping container for storing athletics equipment
  • Fete equipment
  • Two outdoor table tennis tables
  • Landscaping upgrades near the BBQ area

These additions continue to enrich the daily experiences of our students and reflect the strong partnership between our school and community.

Evacuation Drill

On Monday the whole school community conducted their third evacuation drill for the year. This term we practiced an "in to out" drill. This means that students and staff were required to exit their learning spaces and assemble on the oval. All students and staff participated in a safe and orderly manner.
