National Simultaneous Storytime

On Wednesday 27/05/26, students across our school enthusiastically participated in National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS), joining millions of children, educators and library lovers across Australia in celebrating the joy of reading.

This year’s feature text was Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, an inspiring underdog story about courage, teamwork and self-belief, written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd and illustrated by Jake A. Minton.

Students in Years 3–6 also took part in engaging reading rotations, where teachers shared a variety of rich literature texts during 10-minute sessions. Students had the opportunity to experience different stories, genres and authors while connecting with the enjoyment of reading.

The feedback from both students and staff was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing their excitement and enjoyment throughout the sessions. It was wonderful to see students celebrating books, connecting through stories and fostering a love of reading across our school community.
