Education Week 2026
Last week we celebrated Education with a range of exciting activities spread across the week. It was fantastic to see so many parents and family members enjoying a warm drink from the coffee van on Tuesday morning before visiting classrooms and participating in various Maths activities with the students.
On Wednesday students participated in a letter writing activity where they wrote and posted letters of appreciation for a teacher who has helped or had a lasting impact on them during their schooling so far. These letters were read and celebrated by all staff and truly showed the impact we have on the students.
Thursday was Silly Socks Day where students and staff took the opportunity to wear the 'silliest' socks possible. There was considerable effort put into this event by many families, with socks decorated in a wide variety of ways. Several prizes were awarded to students who were recognised as having shown a lot of creativity in decorating their silly socks.
Students also had the opportunity to purchase an iced donut at recess for $1 as part of a fundraising event organised by our Junior School Council. Almost 200 iced donuts were sold on the day which was outstanding.
National Simultaneous Storytime
National Simultaneous Storytime occurred on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at 12:00 pm. Across the country the picture story book - Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller - was read.
Students from F-2 participated in a shared reading of the book in the library. Years 3-6 had access to a PDF copy of the book to read to their class as well as being able to view a live streaming of the reading of the book if they preferred.
The moral of the story is to believe in yourself and prove any doubters wrong. A good lesson to follow in life.
Road Safety - Bikes and Scooters
A reminder that is a legal requirement that helmets must be worn when riding a bicycle, e-scooter or human powered scooter wile out in public. Not doing so could potentially result in a fine. More importantly however is the safety of the students. Whilst we love to see them actively riding and walking to school it is essential that they do so safely. Unfortunately we cannot always predict what will happen on the roads and footpaths, including cars entering and exiting driveways. We therefore are asking for the assistance of parents and carers to ensure anyone riding bikes and scooters to school are wearing an appropriate fitting helmet.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
