SWPBS

The SWPBS focus for Weeks 1 & 2 of Term 4 is Responsibility - showing respect during the National Anthem & School Pledge. Showing respect during the National Anthem and School Pledge is important because it demonstrates respect for our country, our community and the people around us. It helps students understand that they are part of a wider community and teaches them to participate appropriately in important shared moments. By standing respectfully, listening and joining in, we show pride in our school and community and consideration for others.
How can families help at home?
Practising appropriate behaviour – Encourage children to stand or sit still, listen quietly and participate appropriately during formal occasions.
Discussing community – Talk about how we are all part of different communities, such as our family, school, local community and Australia.
Encouraging pride and belonging – Talk positively about ways children can contribute to and care for their school and community.
Exciting changes
As part of the legacy our School Captains want to leave, our school will learn the second verse of the Australian Anthem. Starting in week 3, we will sing both verses at our school assemblies.
