Photography Competition

 Sustainability Through Your Own Lens – Photography Competition

Students are invited to take part in the Sustainability through your own lens school photography competition, celebrating creativity, photography and our local environment.

 

This year’s theme is “Backyard Biodiversity: discover your local icons.” 

 

Students can capture an original photograph of a native animal, threatened species, local habitat, biodiversity activity or another special part of nature in their local area. Each entry also includes a short reflection of up to 100 words explaining what species, habitat or place deserves greater recognition and protection, and why.

There are categories for:

  • Prep – Year 4 
  • Years 5 – 8 
  • Years 9 – 12

 

Winning entries receiving $200 for their school to support a sustainability project.

 

Winners will also be invited to the 2027 ResourceSmart Schools Awards, where their work will be showcased.

 

The competition closes Friday 16 October 2026.

 

Holiday help: Students and parents are welcome to email me during the school holidays with any questions or if they would like help preparing their entry.
