School Council Report

September School Council Meeting

It was another busy council meeting on 7 September with lots of great news to share and items to discuss. Highlights included:

 

Recent Events and Activities 

  • Great success of ART FOR ALL and acknowledgement to everyone involved in organising such an incredible event.
  • The very entertaining grade 1 and 2 concerts with huge thanks to Olivia and Keri and congratulations to all of the children.
  • Book Week parade.
  • A successful Grade 5 camp.
  • Commencement of the term 3 intensive swimming program.
  • The soon to commence playground building works.

 

School Review Process

Paul provided an update on the outcomes of the recent school review, acknowledged everyone involved and felt it had been a good process to reflect on the great work happening at FPS. He confirmed more detailed information would be provided once the report is available.

Outside School Hours Care Service

As part of standard processes, school council is working through a procurement process for a new contract for the outside school hours care provider. An update was provided on progress. Confirmation of the outcome will be available once the process is completed during September. 

 

Other topics included:

  • A reflection about our dress code policy and whether it still works for our school.
  • Continued discussions about the illegal parking near the Wingrove St crossing and the upcoming meeting with Darebin Council.
  • Approval of a TeamKids Compliance and Administration Charge which has recently been communicated to families.

 

Our next meeting is on Monday 26 October 2026.
