Around the College

MAKING A FIN-OMENAL SPLASH
The St Anne’s College Swimming Carnival was full of laughter and joy as students took to the pool to compete in a variety of events.
The college houses of Majella, Montessori, Cooper and Charles all battled it out in the pool with student’s proudly representing their team.
Montessori House took out this year's carnival! A big congratulations to Montessori.
Apology Breakfast
Representatives from St Anne’s College attended last week's Apology Breakfast in the Queens Gardens. The annual event recognises the anniversary of the formal apology to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples made by former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
The breakfast in Shepparton included a Smoking Ceremony, Welcome to Country, guest speakers, reading of the apology, a minute’s silence and a music performance.
Students Lucy, Lara and Owen attended the event along with Principal Anthony Butts and Koorie Education Officer Leonie Scott. A huge congratulations to these students for representing St Anne’s College at this important event.
Shepparton News Captains Interview
This week we welcomed Shepparton News who interviewed this year’s College Captains Alick Jarvis and Liliana Cirillo. Alick and Liliana will join other captains from across the Goulburn Valley in a series of articles published in the Shepparton News over the coming weeks.
The pair were asked about why they wanted to be school captains, their goals, what subjects they are studying this year and which subject is their favourite as well as their plans for when they finish school this year.
We look forward to seeing Alick and Liliana in print and sharing their fantastic responses with our college community. Well done to our captains for representing St Anne’s College and showcasing your fantastic leadership!
