The Basics

"The Basics" is an important document we regularly use with our students. It outlines in simple terms our expectations for students as members of our school community. We encourage parents, kin and carers to be familiar with these, so they can best support their young people at school.

Annual privacy reminder for our school community

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ privacy policy and the Schools’ privacy collection notice.

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.

We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.

Supervision times

Please note that provision for supervision of students before and after school is included in the BYCS Yard Duty and Supervision policy. 

Students arriving early to school may be supervised from 8:30 am in the Common Room at Coburg or MPR at Richmond. Supervision after school can not be expected beyond 3:30 pm.

Any exceptions to these arrangements must be negotiated through the Homegroup teacher.
