Grade 3 & 4

Term 1- Week 10
Wow, it is hard to believe we are at the end of Term 1 already!
It was awesome to see everyone participating at the athletic sports in week 8. It was a great day and everyone had a good go.
In Inquiry, we have been working on our posters which is looking at the leaders, facilities, activities and entertainment within our local community, which all in turn relates to our Civics and Citizenship unit about rules and laws.
In numeracy we have been completing units on time, fractions, multiplication, division and some assessments.
In Literacy, we are reading the texts Elves and the Shoemaker and Feathers for Phoebe. We are investigating simple sentences, noun phases, subordinate clauses, independent and dependent clauses. We are practicing choral reading, where we read as a group or we read to a partner. We are also working with prefixes and suffixes. In our writing, we have been using our knowledge of the different phrases to create our own stories about Feathers for Phoebe and The Elves and the Shoemaker.
In Wellbeing, we have been looking at the different ways we are able to work together with different people and speak in a nice manner to everyone.
This week, for Religion, we are going across to the Church to learn more about Holy Week where each home group gets the chance to share a freeze frame about one aspect of the Holy Week and the importance it is for our Catholic tradition.
Have a safe and blessed Easter.
We hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday.
Looking forward to seeing everyone back on Monday 20th April, ready for Term 2.
Alison, Fiona, Michelle and Penni,
