Meet Our Theatre Captains!

A massive congratulations to our 2026 Theatre Captains, Tashi and Ella, who have worked exceptionally hard over the years to deservingly be in the role of captaining the Theatre programme at Ivanhoe Grammar School. Here is an introduction about them:

Hey everyone! 

Our names are Tashi and Ella, and we are your Theatre Captains for 2026. We are so excited for what this year holds for our Theatre Program at Ivanhoe – we have some amazing performances and opportunities lined up and can’t wait for you to see and be a part of them! 

We are fresh off a huge success with a 5-night sell out show of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, an incredible performance showcasing the amazing skills of the actors and actresses we have at this school. 

Rehearsals are well underway for the Senior Years and Middle Years musicals. With the restructure of the Theatre Program this year, we are lucky enough to give younger performers a chance to grow and thrive in this environment right when they start their high school career. This year’s Middle Years musical (Years 7 and 8) is The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, a fun, high-energy show packed with humour, chaos and a bit of heart as a group of misfit demigods try to figure themselves out.  

The Senior Years musical (Years 9-12) is Chicago, a slick, jazzy performance full of dark humour, bold characters and show-stopping numbers that play with fame, crime and the idea of celebrity. 

We also have the new Theatre IDEALs stream that launched this year, an amazing opportunity for anyone to get involved in the Theatre Program. There are so many avenues on offer – more than solely performing.
