Hi everyone, I'm Jo and I'm the Captain of the Hockey team for 2026. I've been playing hockey since I was four, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be the Captain of the Ivanhoe team this year after joining Ivanhoe in Year 10. I love playing hockey, and being able to play with my friends at school makes it even more fun. This year, I'm looking forward to working with the team to improve on our individual skills as well as our collective cohesion. In the coming months, we'll be building on our strong start to the season. We've got some new recruits this year, as well as seasoned members, and I can't wait to see how the team evolves as we continue to train and play together.

Hi everyone, I'm Jeremy and I am your Boys' Hockey Captain for 2026. The 2026 Boys Firsts Hockey program started strong with our British coaches running fast and challenging trainings. In our first few games, we were unlucky not to secure the win after scoring first against Trinity and Pegs, although our new game plans and play strategies were beginning to pay off. Our team morale was boosted after our awesome 4-3 win over Yarra Valley Grammar. Unfortunately, Mentone were too strong for us the following week despite our teams’ strength in stringing fast passes around their key players. I am looking forward to the second half of the season and playing in the new 2026 Indigenous kit in round 5. The future of Ivanhoe Hockey is looking strong with impressive emerging talent from our Year 9 and 10 boys.

Hi everyone, My name is Matthew Kocev and I’m a Year 11 student and I’m proud to be one of this year’s Soccer Captains. I’ve been playing soccer for 14 years now, so it has always been a big part of my life and something I’m passionate about. This season, I’m especially looking forward to working with our new coach, Shane, and getting to know a lot of the new faces in the team. I think it’s a great opportunity for us to build strong connections and improve together as a group. Alongside my Co-Captain Ranjiv, our main goal this year is to lead the team to the premiership. I’m excited for what is ahead and I am keen to make it a successful and enjoyable season for everyone involved.

Hi everyone, I’m your Basketball Sport Captain for 2026, and here’s a little introduction about me. A fun fact about me is that I’ve been playing basketball since I was 8 years old. Over the years, I’ve really grown to love the sport, not just for the competition, but for the friendships you build and the experiences that help you develop both on and off the court.

This year, I’m really looking forward to having fun with all the girls in the team and hopefully getting another shot at the grand final, this time aiming to come away with the win. As Sport Captain, one of my main goals is to help us reach the grand final again, but also to make sure everyone in the Firsts Basketball Team enjoys their season, feels included, and continues to grow in their skills and confidence. I’m excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together!

Hi everyone, I’m Lily Rundle, your 2026 Winter Sport Captain for Netball. I started in the program as a training partner in Year 9, so it’s a real privilege to now be captain of the Firsts team. I’ve always loved netball for the teamwork, competitiveness, and strong sense of community it creates. As Sport Captain this year, I’m looking forward to promoting girls' netball across the school and helping to make it a fun, inclusive environment for everyone involved. My goal for the season is to support all players within the team and be a positive role model for the younger girls, encouraging them to get involved, build confidence, and enjoy their netball. I’m really excited for the season ahead and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together!
