Cyber Safety

Cyber Safety Reminder for Families

For those who may have missed my Compass posts this week, I would like to take this opportunity to again highlight the importance of cyber safety for our students.

At school, we have strong internet firewalls and filters in place to help prevent students from accessing inappropriate content. However, it is important to understand that these protections do not extend beyond the school environment. When devices are used at home, students are no longer protected by our school-based systems.

We ask that families remain vigilant in monitoring their child’s online activity. This includes regularly checking messages, group chats, social media platforms, and any content being shared or received. Open conversations about appropriate online behaviour are essential in helping students make safe and respectful choices.

It is the responsibility of each family to ensure that appropriate safety measures are in place at home. This may include parental controls, supervised device use, and clear expectations around online communication.

We appreciate your support in reinforcing these important messages and working in partnership with us to keep our students safe.

Please reach out if you have any questions.
