ANZAC DAY

5/6 School Leaders ANZAC Excursion
Last Thursday, our Mitcham Primary School leaders proudly attended the RSL-organised ANZAC Day excursion to honour and remember the service and sacrifice of the ANZACs. The students participated respectfully in a commemorative service, reflecting on the importance of this significant day in Australia’s history. A special moment of the ceremony included school captains from each attending school laying a wreath, representing their school communities and paying their respects.
During the excursion, students also listened to a powerful and moving story about a young boy who was just 14 years old when he went to fight in the war. This story helped bring history to life and deepened students’ understanding of the courage and sacrifices made by young people in the past. The experience was both meaningful and memorable, and we are proud of the way our leaders represented our school.
