Mr Hyatt

Hi Everyone,

I hope all of our families enjoyed a wonderful, restful, and meaningful ANZAC Day long weekend. It is always a special opportunity to pause, reflect, and spend some quality time with loved ones before the busyness of the term really sets in.

Speaking of busyness, it is actually quite scary to think that tomorrow already marks the first day of May! The year certainly seems to be flying by. As we dive straight into Week 2 of the new term, I am finding myself—and no doubt many of our students and parents—getting right back into the rhythm of the daily school grind. While it always takes a little adjustment after the holidays, it is fantastic to see the classrooms buzzing with energy again as we all settle back into our normal routines.

We will certainly need that energy, as we have plenty of exciting events coming up in the very near future! Over the next couple of weeks, we are looking forward to cheering on our athletes at the Polding Winter Trials, welcoming Healthy Harold for our Life Education workshops, and hosting our first School Advisory Council meeting of the year. Please be sure to check the 'Dates to Remember' section for all the details.

Anyway, I better stop rambling on. Take care and I hope to catch up with some of our families at our Parent Assembly tomorrow morning.

St Patrick's School will host our 2027 Open Morning on Tuesday, May 19th, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.

This event provides prospective parents with the opportunity to discover what our school can offer their children. Guests will be able to meet our staff, take a tour of the campus, and enjoy morning tea. Additionally, children preparing to start school are welcome to attend and participate in activities with our current Kindergarten class.

If you know any families with a child starting school next year, or anyone interested in learning more about St Patrick's, please extend an invitation for them to join us.

ANZAC DAY MARCH

I was proud of our students who participated in Saturday's ANZAC Day March. They represented our school with pride and dignity, honouring the servicemen and women who have protected Australia. Through their participation, they paid a fitting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

GOOD LUCK -  Airlee, Lucy, Josie & Phoebe

Tomorrow is an exciting day for Airlee, Lucy, and Josie (Girls Hockey), along with Phoebe (Girls Football), as they head to Bathurst for the Polding Winter Trials! We wish these talented athletes the very best of luck as they step up to compete against top players from Catholic Primary Schools across the northern half of New South Wales.

Healthy Harold Visit-Life Education Van

At St Patrick's Primary, we believe that educating our students goes well beyond the classroom walls—it is also about giving them the tools they need to live healthy, safe, and happy lives.

With this in mind, we are excited to welcome the Life Education team and their famous mascot, Healthy Harold, to our school! All classes will be participating in specially tailored wellbeing and health workshops on either Thursday, 7th May or Monday, 11th May.

The Life Education mobile classroom provides a unique, interactive environment where students learn about crucial topics like nutrition, online safety, building healthy friendships, and making positive choices.

These sessions are always a highlight for the students. Families are encouraged to chat with their children after their session to find out what they learned from Harold and the team!

School Advisory Council Meeting this Tuesday

Our School Advisory Council plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction and community spirit of our school. I am looking forward to our first meeting of the year, which will take place this upcoming Tuesday, 5th May.

The meeting will be held in the school staffroom, commencing at 5:30 pm. I extend my sincere gratitude to all the council members for volunteering their time and expertise, and I look forward to a productive and positive academic year working together.

Staff Development Day- Monday 25th May

Please be advised that Monday, 25th May will be a pupil-free day at St Patrick's Primary. All of our staff will be traveling to O'Connor Catholic College in Armidale to participate in the Armidale Cluster Schools Staff Development Day.

I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this mid-term closure may cause your family. When scheduling staff development, my priority is always to place these days immediately before or after the school holidays to minimise disruption to our families. However, on this occasion, the event organisers scheduled the day to coincide with the beginning of Catholic Schools Week so that schools across the region could gather together. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
