In Kindergarten, our recent focus in Mathematics has been length. Students have been learning how to measure and compare the length of different objects in meaningful and hands-on ways.
We have been practising important measuring skills such as starting from the same point, placing objects close together, and lining them up end to end. Along the way, we have been using mathematical language like longest, shortest, and same to describe and compare what we see.
To support their understanding, students have been using a variety of concrete materials including wool, blocks, cardboard, and playdough to explore and compare lengths. These hands-on experiences help build strong foundations for future measurement skills.
Our little mathematicians are having lots of fun while learning and are developing confidence in using mathematical language and thinking.
Last term, we proudly completed our self-portraits after spending time carefully studying our faces and exploring our unique features. Students looked closely at their skin tones, hair and eye colour, and the shapes of their faces to create detailed and thoughtful artworks.
The finished results are truly impressive—definitely frame-worthy! We are so proud of the effort and creativity our young artists have shown.
