Lightning Premiership

“During the Lightning Premiership I played netball and everyone had a great time hanging out with their friends in Ashwood. I was in the ‘A team’ with so many amazing netballers and we came so close to moving onto the next level.” Ruby (Y5)

Division Cross Country

Yuval, Charlie, Josh and Adele all represented themselves and our school proudly at the Division Cross Country.

A special congratulations to Yuval, who placed 1st, and Josh, who finished 4th. Both students will now progress to the Regional Cross Country on Tuesday June 16 in Hastings.

Congratulations to you all on reaching this level and representing CSPS so well.

“I had been looking forward to this day for a while. The weather…..heavy rain, mud and wind! Not so great! Despite this I ran as fast as I could and after about 100m I won in first place and that’s where I stayed. There was a cyclist that I could follow although I knew the course from last year. I am now going to keep training for Regionals which is on June 17 at Hastings.”
Yuval (Y6)

“When I got there it was cold, muddy and rainy. I got there early so I could get a good warm up in. I started off in a group of about 15 runners as packs were starting to form. The further the race went the more slippery and muddy the course became. I started to overtake several runners and I was coming 7th. A gap opened and I went for it and now I was in 4th place. I stayed in 4th place for the last km until the end. I was happy to come 4th place and go onto Regionals with Yuval.”

CSPS Staff Taking on the Push-Up Challenge!

Gallery Image

From June 3–26, a number of CSPS staff members are taking part in the Push-Up Challenge, raising awareness and supporting mental health while also trying to improve their fitness.

So, if you happen to see Mr Cooper suddenly dropping to the floor for a quick 10 push-ups before speaking at assembly, don't be alarmed—it’s all part of the challenge!

You might also spot Mr Briggs and Mr Kappa punching out 10 before Year 3/4 sport, Mrs Sochen casually completing a ‘lazy’ 10 before her next Maths lesson, or Mr Higgins squeezing in a set before students arrive for the day.

Keep an eye out for Mrs Patel knocking out 10 while planning her next STEM lesson, ES staff Chris and Liz somehow finding time to add push-ups to the long list of ways they support our staff and students, or Sarah in the office powering through 10 between phone calls, emails and the hundred other things helps keep the office running smoothly each day.

If you see any of our Push-Up Challenge participants in action, send some positive vibes, words of encouragement, or perhaps just try not to laugh too hard as they attempt to stand back up afterwards!

Good luck to all our staff members taking part. We are proud to support such an important cause while adding a little extra fitness (and entertainment) to the school day.
