What's On In Foundation

Fire Education Sessions
This term, we were fortunate to welcome visits from our local Fire Station. Our local firefighters work closely with the community to teach important fire safety skills and help prevent emergencies before they happen.
During the first visit, the students learned that firefighters are important community helpers. They also discovered the difference between safe and unsafe fires, why it is important to stay low in smoke, and the need for a safe family meeting place.
Everyone was very excited for the second visit when the fire truck arrived! The students loved having the opportunity to sit inside the truck and even try using the fire hose.
Reconciliation Week
The Foundation students were proud to celebrate Reconciliation Week and enjoyed learning about how to respect and appreciate First Nations cultures. They also learned about the importance of kindness, community, and belonging.
One of our activities was reading Super Snake, a Dreaming story about the Rainbow Serpent creating a river and helping people during a drought. Through the story, the students learned about caring for the land, sharing with others, and working together.
