The Marist College Ashgrove community is proud to recognise the outstanding achievements of Mason Irving, whose dedication, skill and commitment to vocational education have been acknowledged at both regional and state levels throughout the year.
Mason was named the Metropolitan Region School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year, a prestigious award that recognises excellence in workplace learning, technical competency and commitment to a vocational pathway. Building on this remarkable achievement, Mason went on to be named Runner-Up in the Queensland State School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Award, placing him among the very best school-based apprentices and trainees across the state.
Adding to an already impressive list of accomplishments, Mason was also recognised at the Marist College Ashgrove Awards Night, receiving a Highly Commended Award in Certificate II in Engineering Pathways. This acknowledgement reflects the outstanding effort, professionalism and work ethic he has consistently demonstrated throughout his studies and workplace training.
In recognition of these achievements, one of the College's valued industry partners, DeWalt, has generously donated a professional tool package to Mason. This thoughtful gesture acknowledges his hard work and dedication while supporting him as he continues his journey within the engineering and trade industries.
A special thank you must be extended to Mrs Gooley for her nomination and advocacy of Mason's achievements throughout the awards process. We also acknowledge Mr David Brown, whose teaching, mentorship and industry expertise have played a significant role in Mason's development and success.
Mason's achievements are a wonderful example of the opportunities available through vocational education and training and highlight the strong partnerships between Marist College Ashgrove, industry and our dedicated teaching staff. We congratulate Mason on an exceptional year and look forward to following his continued success in the years ahead.
