Yesterday was All Souls Day, we keep in our prayers our loved ones who have died. As we continue to miss and mourn them, we trust that they are at peace with God whose love is everlasting.
We continue to pray for our hardworking Year 12 students as the continue exams. May they sustain the energy and effort they need to do their best.
A reminder that Fr Tini celebrates Mass every Wednesday Morning at 8:00am and Fridays at Break 1B in the College Chapel.
This Friday we will commission our Year 11 Students who will serve the community as Extraordinary Ministers of Communion at the 4 College Masses starting with Graduation Mass in Week 7. We thank them for taking on this important ministry.
Matthew 5: 1-12 The Beatitudes On the feast of All Saints we read Matthew’s recollection of the Sermon on the Mount. The Beatitudes describe what it means to be truly fortunate. Jesus challenges worldly ideas of success – wealth and fame: proclaiming those who rely on God, those who are humble, merciful, pure-in-heart, peace-loving and faithful amid suffering are the ones truly fortune and who will have eternal life. True happiness says Jesus comes not from earthly power – but from a stance of surrender and thankfulness. Jesus acknowledges that living a virtuous life is difficult – and doing the right thing is not easy. He says it is especially people who experience great hardship or struggle – and who nevertheless remain faithful or virtuous in their doubt – that God will bless. As Catholics we also believe we can rely on the Saints, and prayer to them for help when we don’t feel strong enough to go it alone. This is a helpful teaching we are blessed to have. There is a famous saying: “All Saints have a past – All Sinners have a future”. Most of the Saints lived lives of abandon or had big problems before they reformed – a touching reminder that we too can always change for the better. And the beatitudes provide a roadmap for improving. This is part of the reason All Souls is followed by All Saints – it reminds us of the finitude of life and that being peaceful, showing mercy, and loving one another is what life is all about and what we should be striving for.
On Wednesday 21 October, we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of our 10 Marist students who participated in the 2026 Ozanam Leadership Program (OLP), held at the Francis Rush Centre, St Stephen's Cathedral.
Throughout the past 9 months, these young men have been on an incredible journey of servant leadership, advocacy and personal growth. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on their experiences and celebrate their achievements alongside participants from other schools.
A highlight of the evening was hearing from Addie, Kane and Jakub, who shared their personal insights and reflections on the program, highlighting the impact it has had on their development as young leaders.
It was a fantastic evening and incredibly rewarding to see just how much these boys have grown in confidence, character and leadership throughout the program. Congratulations to all 10 students on this outstanding achievement. We look forward to seeing them continue to put their leadership into action within our Marist community and beyond!

On Monday 26 October, our MATES volunteers participated in their final Rosies outreach for 2026, marking the conclusion of another wonderful year of service.
Throughout the year, our students and staff participated in 13 Rosies outreaches, each providing an invaluable opportunity to connect with and support those experiencing homelessness, isolation and hardship within our wider Brisbane community.
These experiences have allowed our boys to put the Marist values of compassion, presence and service into action, recognising the importance of human connection, dignity and simply being there for others.
A huge thank you to all the students and staff who generously volunteered their time throughout the year to make these outreaches possible. Your commitment to serving others has made a meaningful difference, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Rosies in 2027!
