1. Combined ensembles perform at assembly, 22.6.26

Both Senior Recorder Ensemble AND Ensemble Autumn Tones joined forces to perform “Count on me” at assembly on a chilly Monday morning, 22.6. One of the members of Senior Recorder Ensemble was absent, so we were extremely fortunate to be able to count on the expertise of former member, Kevin, whose playing helped us to even up the balance between melody and harmony. Thanks, everyone, and congratulations on a fine performance!

 

2. Semester 2 enrolment applications received – new beginners

Thank you to parents/caregivers who have submitted applications for new beginner recorder lessons from term 3. Generally, students apply to be enrolled in the program each year, for the entire school year, but, in 2026, I have space in my timetable to commence some beginners mid year. If I have received your application form, you will have received an email from me! Lessons will start in the first week of term 3 and will be on Tuesdays for Grade 1 beginners and on Wednesdays for Grade 2 beginners. Please see subsequent emails for further details.

 

3. Senior Ensemble to participate in RECORDARAMA, 1.8.26

Members and families of Senior Recorder Ensemble are asked to SAVE the DATE – Saturday 1.8.26 (in the morning) – for RECORDARAMA, the annual recorder eisteddfod! Please see emails from me for details. Thank you.

Apply now to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) for 2027

 

All Victorian government primary schools follow a statewide timeline for enrolling in Foundation (Prep) for the 2027 school year.

 

If you have a child starting primary school in 2027, it’s time to enrol. Make sure to submit your enrolment application by Friday 31 July 2026.

 

If you are enrolling the sibling of a student at our school for Foundation in 2027, and both children will be attending our school at the same time, your child is prioritised for a place at our school.

 

It is important to submit your enrolment application to us on time as it will ensure your child is included in all transition activities if offered enrolment at our school. This also allows us to plan our classrooms, staffing and transition activities, and ensures your child has the best start to school.

Language Translation on Compass

We wish to advise you that our Compass platform has now been enabled with a Google Translate function.  This will allow families to access Compass in their preferred language.

 

On laptop or desktop computers this appears as a ‘Select Language’ button in the bottom right of your screen.

 

If using the Compass app on your phone and wishing to access the translate function you will need to follow the following steps:

  • From home page tap the ‘More’ menu in the bottom right hand corner
  • Tap ‘Open in Browser’ in bottom left hand corner
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Click ‘Select Language’ button in bottom right hand corner
