Book Week 2026 – Symphony of Stories
Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and inspire a lifelong love of books in children.
Through stories, students are encouraged to use their imagination, develop creativity, build literacy skills, and explore different perspectives and experiences.
Book Week also helps foster a sense of community, as students, staff, and families come together to share their favourite books and characters.
This year's theme, Symphony of Stories, celebrates the way stories connect, inspire, and bring people together, much like the different instruments in an orchestra create beautiful music.
A reminder to families: Book Week will be celebrated during the last week of August, with the Burnie parade on Wednesday 26 August at 8.45am.
We encourage parents and carers to start thinking about costumes now. Costumes can be as simple or as creative as you like, and can be inspired by a favourite book character or by the Symphony of Stories theme.
We look forward to celebrating another fantastic Book Week with our students and seeing their wonderful costume creations!
