As we begin Term 3, we do so with a deep sense of gratitude for the many opportunities we have had this year and for the ones that are ahead.  It has been a blessing to commence the term with the CEN State Conference for our teaching staff, followed by a dedicated staff professional development day.  Both events intentionally set aside time to invest in our staff, spiritually and professionally, equipping and encouraging them as they continue to serve and support our students with excellence.

A key focus in the first weeks was strengthening our partnership with parents through our Parent Teacher Meetings.  These conversations are invaluable in helping us work together to support each student's growth and learning journey.  We were also pleased to be supporting access to vital health services through the Lions Children's Vision Screening Program, which took place last week for Primary students who had parent permission.

Our Secondary student leaders continue to play an important role in shaping the culture of our school community this term. Under the direction of Bettina Townsend, Head of Secondary, they will again lead Revive and Awaken this term, creating opportunities for students to grow spiritually and encourage one another in their faith.

There is much to look forward to throughout the term, including the excitement of Science Week and Book Week, both of which provide wonderful opportunities for students to explore, discover and celebrate learning. In Week 4, we will join schools across Australia in recognising Bullying No Way Week, reinforcing our commitment to respectful relationships, inclusion and student wellbeing.  Primary students will also participate in important fire safety training as we continue to prioritise student safety.

Later in the term, we look forward to celebrating Learning Support Aide Appreciation Week and recognising the invaluable contribution our aides make to the learning, care and success of our students each day. We are also excited to honour our fathers and father-figures with a special BBQ Breakfast, providing an opportunity to connect and celebrate the important role they play in the lives of our children.

Students will also have opportunities to broaden their learning experiences beyond the classroom.  Secondary students will participate in the Next Gen Global Leadership Summit at Devonport Christian School alongside students from other Christian schools in North West Tasmania.  More opportunities to enrich learning throughout the term include a range of excursions and camps such as the Year 9 Melbourne City Camp, Outdoor Education Ben Lomond Camp and Outdoor Education Level Canyon hike.  Make sure to keep your eye out for the invitation to our Primary Musical Showcase later this term, a celebration of the musical talents and hard work of our Primary students under the direction of the amazing Sharee Haberle.

Term 3 promises to be a rich and rewarding season of learning, growth, service and community.  Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we journey through another exciting term together.
