Stage 3 Camp

Stage 3 Excursion

By Kash McPhillips and Felicity Adams

In week 2 of term 4, stage three went to Coffs Coast Adventure Camp. It was so much fun, we all had a blast.

Day one we did the mud run and found our groups for the activities and cabins. Now back to the mud run we all had a blast and everyone should agree that the slide was the best part. Mr McManus, Miss McMeniman, and Mrs Fletcher joined in with the fun. For our night activity we did ‘Minute To Win’. It was so fun and we all had a great time.

Day Two Of Camp

We did all of the activities. Each group did their activities in a different order. I was in group one and our first activity was archery, Kash hit two bullseyes. The second activity we did was canoeing, Alice and Willow B got three hundred points which was amazing. Third activity was the skywire and it was also amazing. When it was mine and Alice’s turn, Alice was so scared that she started to cry but in the end she just shut her eyes and went for it and she even had a second go because of how fun it was. Finally the last activity we did was fencing, we had a fencing instructor come in and teach us how to do fencing, we did a lot of practice and finally we got to play people we chose in a battle. After all the fencing we did an acting class where we did a war scene and it was fantastic. For our night activity we played capture the flag. We separated into two teams and played until supper time. That was day two.

Day Three Of Camp.

We watched the reptile show. It was spectacular. We got to see lots of reptiles. We saw a tortoise named Buzz, a bearded dragon called Spike, and a blue tongue lizard called Blue and we saw a little snake called Doris and a big one called Kevin.  When Kevin came out of the box, Miss and Collie ran for the door and went outside, which was hilarious. Finally, we did first aid and my friend Willow was the volunteer to be bitten by the fake snake. We all got taught how to treat a snake bite wound if one of us ever got bitten by a snake.

Then we all packed up and hopped on the bus, we headed to the Botanical gardens. It was so beautiful and we all learnt a lot about nature and what we need to do to protect our environment. We watched a movie on the bus and then it was time to get picked up.

I think everyone would agree that this was the best camp ever.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Mr McManus, Miss McMeniman, Miss Condrick and Mrs Fletcher for taking us even though we were a bit of a hassle. Thank you to the Coffs Coast instructors for taking the time to help us with our activities and thank you to our parents for paying a big load of money to let us go and have fun.
