Touch Football Gala Day - Inverell

Last Friday, the 1st of November, we took 5 teams to Inverell for the Armidale Diocesan Touch Football Gala Day. In warm conditions, each team played 4 games against other schools from the Armidale Diocese. The Red and Blue team both came away with 3 wins out of the four games and were unlucky not to make the finals. We saw some excellent speed and agility along with some experienced plays which were spectacular to watch. Our Green, Orange and Pink teams learnt a lot from the day and gained some valuable insight in teamwork, sportsmanship and strategy.

We commend all our students for their excellent sportsmanship and enthusiasm in their games. It was a pleasure to spend the day with them and watch them play with greater confidence and understanding as they gained experience from each game they played. Thank you to Mrs Frances Parsons, Mrs Emma Newberry and Kristen Bailey who helped on the day and looked after teams. Thank you also to our stand in scorers in Trish and Tony Cunningham along with Brendon and Nicole Watson.

These days do not happen unless someone puts their hand up to organise them. Thank you to Trish del Santo and Terri-Lee Selig from Holy Trinity in Inverell as well as Heidi Hardaker who goes above and beyond to make sure our students have plenty of opportunities to play sports and test themselves at all levels. Our students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Touch Football Clinics

NSW Touch Football representative, Mikayla Sheather ran a day of Touch Football clinics at our school last Thursday. This could not have been timed any better as we had our gala day in Inverell the day after. Our whole school participated in this and we are extremely grateful that Mikayla was able to fit us in before she travelled back to Newcastle.

Water Awareness

Next week, Monday 11th to Thursday 14th November will see our annual Water Awareness sessions take place at the Glen Innes Aquatic Centre. Notes have been sent out via Compass and for those who have not responded, a paper version has been sent home. Your child cannot travel to the pool and enter the water unless we have permission from their carers. Please contact the school if you are having trouble consenting to this event. Details of the event are outlined in the note.
