Father’s Day

This morning, we welcomed a very special group of guests to our Junior School: fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures who play such a vital role in the lives of our boys. This year’s Father’s Day Breakfast was another wonderful occasion as Gibney Hall was filled with laughter, conversation and sporting colours.  

Beyond the delicious food and Spirit of Community, the morning was a chance to reflect on the profound impact these men have on our boys. Whether you are a dad, stepdad, grandfather, or uncle, your presence in a boy’s life matters deeply. You are role models in the truest sense. You guide the young man in your life with patience, strength, and love.  

Fatherhood is found in the everyday moments: kicking the footy, shooting hoops, sharing a laugh, reading bedtime stories that turn into wrestling matches, or simply sitting together in silence during a car ride that becomes a deep conversation. These moments, though small, continue to shape character and build connection. They continue to teach values not through words, but through examples. 

Importantly, we also honour fathers who are no longer with us. Their legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the traditions we keep, and the people we’ve become. Though they may not be with us on Sunday, they are never far from our hearts. 

To all the men who joined us: thank you. Thank you for showing up, for leading with love, and for being the kind of role models our boys need. We hope you enjoyed the morning and that this Sunday brings more special moments with your family; you have certainly earned it. To all the fathers in our community; Happy Father’s Day.

Wellness Week  

Wellness Week this year provided us with time to stop, reflect, and recharge. Met with beautiful spring conditions for the majority of the week, Junior School boys were involved in a number of different events this week. As we look forward to a fun and engaging week ahead, our focus remains firmly on promoting student wellbeing.  

Throughout Wellness Week, our boys engaged in a whole Junior School wellness walk, yoga, Parkour mindfulness colouring and no homework.  

Thank you to the families who took time to talk with their sons about the week’s activities and use this opportunity to discuss wellbeing more broadly. Wellbeing is more than just feeling good. It is about building resilience, maintaining a positive mindset, and developing healthy relationships and habits. It plays a vital role in how students connect, learn, and thrive at school. 

Italian Week – Week 9

Languages Week Celebrations 

In Week 9, the College will celebrate Languages Week with a range of exciting activities organised by our Italian Department. This special week provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Italian language and culture through a variety of engaging experiences. 

Students can also enjoy a delicious Italian treat, with gelato available via pre-order on Wednesday 16 September. Orders must be placed through the College Online Store using the following link: Gelato Order Junior School – Trinity College. Please note that orders are to be kept to one per student.  

Please note that orders will close Friday 11 September, 5.00pm. 

Languages Week Activity Schedule 

Monday 14 September 

• Bocce at Recess for all Junior School students. 

During Italian Lessons Throughout the Week 

• Year 6 students will participate in a hands-on gnocchi-making experience. 

• Year 5 students will learn a selection of Italian songs, which they will perform at Assembly on Friday 19 September. 

• Year 4 students will immerse themselves in a variety of traditional Italian activities during their Italian lessons. 

Wednesday 16 September 

• Gelato Day (pre-orders only). 

Thursday 17 September 

• Bocce at Lunchtime for all Junior School students. 

Friday 19 September 

• Year 5 Italian Song Performance at Assembly. 

We look forward to a wonderful week of language, culture, music, food and fun as our students embrace the spirit of Italy and celebrate the importance of learning languages. 

Save The Date 

Year 5 Camp Parent Meeting  

The Year 5 Camp is fast approaching, and we ask all parents and carers to join us for an important information session. 

During the meeting, we will outline everything you need to know about camp, including travel arrangements, accommodation, activities, packing lists, student expectations, and health and wellbeing requirements. 

This session is being held for the parents/carers only. Students will be supervised in the Junior School Undercover Area during this time.

Morning Drop-Off

Mornings can be a whirlwind. Between finding missing shoes, locating that all-important lunch box, and making it to school before the bell, it's easy to feel like you're competing in an Olympic event! Afternoons can be just as busy, with everyone eager to get home after a long day. With this in mind, we'd like to remind all families that student safety remains our highest priority during these peak drop-off and pick-up times. 

To help keep our community safe and traffic flowing smoothly, we ask all families to observe the following: 

• Please adhere to the College speed limit of 10 km/h. It may feel slower than your morning coffee kicks in, but it helps keep everyone safe. 

• Drive carefully through the Main Driveway and the roundabout near the white canopy/umbrella. 

• Do not drop boys off between the roundabout and the Pavilion. This is dangerous and disrupts the flow of traffic. 

• Do not use staff parking bays for drop-off or pick-up. 

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and shared commitment to keeping our students safe. By working together and following the signage and road rules, we can ensure that everyone arrives and departs safely, with far less stress and considerably fewer "Where are my keys?" Moments. 

Please also note that there is no teacher supervision after school at the white canopy/umbrella area. All Junior School students should wait in the designated Junior School area until they are collected.

TC Cafe Orders  

Commencing Monday 24 August, there will be an option to order recess for your son via the Flexischools app. A reminder to parents that our Café now offers the option to pre-order Afternoon Tea through the Flexischools app.  Afternoon Tea includes a muffin and a juice for $8.00 and will be delivered to the Junior School on the afternoon you select. Simply place your order via the Flexischools app before the relevant cut-off time to have Afternoon Tea delivered to your child.
