ANZAC Day
Our school community will pause to acknowledge our ANZACs in a whole-school ANZAC Assembly, held in our Quad at 9am on Wednesday 23rd April, 2025. Parents and community members are welcome to attend this ceremony as we pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed. Thank you to our Senior Student Leaders, AirForce cadets and orchestra for their leadership and energy in preparing for what is sure to be a deserved time of recognition and reflection.
A special mention to our School Captains, Sahara Zisti and Isaac Elmore who have been provided the privileged opportunity to speak at the Currumbin RSL ANZAC Dawn Service, held at Elephant Rock on Friday April 25th. The opportunity for Sahara and Isaac to speak on behalf of their generation at such a prestigious service is one we are very proud of and they richly deserve. Our PBC Vocal Ensemble will also be featured as they gather to sing both the Australian and New Zealand anthems under the guidance of our HOD Arts, Ms Tanya Mason. Please support our students by attending the Dawn Service if you can, or tuning in to the national broadcast via Sunrise on Channel 7.
FOOD PROGRAM SUPPORT
The PBC Wellbeing team are excited to announce the launch of an initiative aimed at supporting families facing financial/situational challenges. The team acknowledges that the rising costs of living being experienced are leading to significant impacts for families and communities. As well as this, there are situations beyond control such as grief/loss, change in the family, job related stress, health, and wellbeing, etc.
Starting again this term, the school wellbeing team food initiative will provide:
Breakfast
Evidence shows that breakfast is an important meal for the day. PBC food support will offer cereal, juice, toast, and fruit to students for breakfast from 8.15am in B block.
Pancakes will be available every second Friday outside A block.
Lunch for students experiencing challenges/barriers: Recognising the importance of propernutrition for academic success, we will offer Toasted cheese sandwiches, noodles, muesli bars, fruit, and frozen nutritious meals to students who require food support. Access through B block.
Freshly cooked snap frozen meals:
These nutritious meals are designed to offer convenient and heathy dinner options for families when needed. Meal types will vary throughout the year. These are prepared in the school’s commercial kitchen with qualified staff overseeing senior hospitality students. Access through block wellbeing team. This support will be provided to all family members.
