Stage 3 Young Leaders Afternoon Tea

Last Friday afternoon, the McGlade Library was filled with conversation and connection as we hosted our Young Leaders Afternoon Tea in partnership with Santa Sabina College. The event brought together Year 6 students from both schools, each representing large cohorts, and provided a meaningful opportunity to engage in thoughtful discussion about leadership and what it looks like as they continue their leadership journey within respective cohorts but also prepare for the transition into high school.

Students spoke about the skills that will be essential within their leadership portfolios, including effective communication, resilience, collaboration, and the ability to take initiative. The conversations were rich and purposeful, allowing students to reflect not only on leadership in a formal sense, but also on the everyday actions that shape positive school communities. The afternoon tea setting created a relaxed and respectful environment where students were able to share ideas, listen to one another, and begin building connections that will support their transition into secondary education.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mrs Azizian and Ms Maks from Santa Sabina College for their continued support of this initiative over the past three years, ensuring its ongoing success and impact. We also acknowledge and thank Mrs Santiago and Mr Morris for their organisation and support of our boys and their contribution to making this experience so valuable for all involved.
