We hope all the students had a great break over the school holidays and that everyone is rested and raring to go for a busy Term 3.  This is a massive term for the Year 12s as they crack ahead at getting all of the required competencies signed off, as well as finishing projects in Trades.  It is often a delicate balancing act between the two departments, and we thank our colleagues in the Trades area for working with us, accommodating student swaps to allow everyone to get their work completed.

We have finally had some decent rain and the crops and pastures are starting to look green and healthy.  Fertiliser is being spread and sprayed, and animals are no longer being fed every day.

This is an important term for Certificate III in Agriculture and Pork Production students. There is a lot happening in terms of practical opportunities for these qualifications. Students need to be aware of what is being offered and jump at any chance to get these practical components completed.

We hope the Year 11s are enjoying their Northwest Tour, and that they are making the most of the experiences they are being offered while on this trip.  For some, it will be an eye opener to see different farming methods and enterprises as they head North. Students that departed on the Yu2 bus will be glad to know she's off to the doctor and will hopefully be back and running much better, very soon!

Weekend Duty

The following students have rostered weekend duty for the next two week.

20 and 21 July: Brianna Barnes, Taya Winsor, Seth Donaldson and Adam Sartori.

27 and 28 July: Tyson Bell, Zekiah Martin, Leith Duncan, Hannah Watson and 1 other.

Biosecurity

We ask that our College community understands and respects the need to adhere to our Biosecurity Plan.  Students and staff will not be excluded from the College if they have travelled overseas, but it is important that they remain within the restricted area for the quarantine period of 7 days.  More information is on the Farm Biosecurity page.
