3V3 Basketball 

On the 29th of April, some of McClelland’s Year 10 students competed in the Basketball Victoria 3x Cup State Championships. After coming first in the regional qualifier held at Jubilee Park in Term 1, Kye Lester, James Shieffelbein, Jacob Shaw-Hodges and Noah Szwaja travelled to the State Basketball Centre and competed against some of the state’s best basketball players in this 3v3 basketball event. After playing 9 hard fought matches throughout the day these boys dug deep to reach the finals and were ultimately crowned state champions, a fantastic achievement! Coaches Dan Nicholls, Brent Kitchin and the whole McClelland community are extremely proud of the boys. Below is a breakdown of the final games of the day:

Qualifying Final: McClelland College v Haileybury College - 21-17

Quarter Final: McClelland College v St Monica’s College - 21-12

Semi Final: McClelland College v Box Hill Senior Secondary College - 21-11

State Final: McClelland College v Penola Catholic College - 19-14
