Message from the Principal
St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.
Welcome to Week 6! This week our Foundation students commenced full time at St Peter's. They are doing such a good job at adjusting to the structure and routines of school! Now attending five days a week, we can build on this confidence that they are developing.
We are in full swing of learning, with students engaging in content covering the Health curriculum and Personal and Social Capability by looking at 'Belonging'. This connects very well into our Religious Education curriculum too as we look at how we belong to the Church and try to answer:
Why is it important for me to belong? How do we invite all to belong in this community and the community of the Church? What empowers me to make a difference? What motivates me to make a difference? How do we ensure everyone is empowered and motivated to make a difference in this community?
The Year 5 /6 students participated in a presentation from Minnie Vinnies this week, to provoke thinking around what they could do to support people in our local community.
At St Peter's we are strong believers in the importance of the partnership between families and school. I encourage you to look at the 'Learning and Teaching' page, to read some tips on supporting Literacy at home.
Also check in on the 'Wellbeing' page for information on how we support student wellbeing and the importance of feeling connected at school.
Well done to Farahana and her team on the result of their recent Assessment and Rating at Camp Australia. We are fortunate to have such a fabulous program provided to our students in Before and After School care. Farahana writes about the rating on the Camp Australia page.

It's been wonderful with the cooler weather this week and seeing the students outside and playing . Just a reminder that all students should be wearing the school hat when outside. The hat is designed to be sun smart, protecting students from UV rays, that are there even on an overcast day. Please support us by ensuring your child has the school hat at school every day!
We have now updated the calendar to include detail for Term 2 dates. Please check the 'Important Dates' page and make note of anything that is relevant.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Amelia Burnie (STEM Teacher) who is pregnant with her second child. We wish Amelia and her family all the blessings as they prepare for this exciting next chapter.

As we continue our journey through Lent we reflect on how we are using the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit speaks to us to give insight and guidance into our relationships with God, with others, and with ourselves. When we listen to the Holy Spirit, we can understand how God is present in our lives and make good decisions.
When am I most able to hear the promptings of the Holy Spirit?
I hope you all have a great week and enjoy the long weekend!
