Lalor East Primary School vs Thomastown East Round 1
Lalor East Primary School proudly hosted Thomastown East Primary School this week in an exciting afternoon of sport. While the results didn’t all go our way, our students showed determination, teamwork and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.
Cricket
Our cricket team battled hard and showed great spirit, finishing on 6/15, with Thomastown East posting a strong 3/72. Despite the tough result, our players showed resilience in the field and continued to encourage one another until the final ball.
Girls Rounders
The girls put in a fantastic effort in their rounders match. It was a competitive game, but Thomastown East came away with a 10–6 win. Our team demonstrated great teamwork and persistence, keeping the pressure on throughout the match.
Boys Rounders
The boys also faced a challenging contest, going down 10–2. Although the scoreboard didn’t reflect their effort, the team never gave up and continued to support each other with positive energy.
Boys Hotshots Tennis
In Hotshots Tennis, our boys competed strongly but were defeated 36–9. There were some great rallies and improved serving skills on display, showing how much the team has developed.
Girls Hotshots tennis
A highlight of the day was our girls Hotshots team, who secured a fantastic 27–19 victory! Their communication, consistency and confidence made the difference in an exciting match.
While Thomastown East had a successful day overall, Lalor East students represented our school with pride, determination and excellent sportsmanship. We look forward to continuing to improve and building on the positives from this week’s matches.

Lalor East Primary School vs St John XXIII Primary School East Round 2
Lalor East Primary School recently competed against St John XXIII Primary School in an exciting and closely contested interschool sports day. All teams demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination across every event.
Cricket
In cricket, Lalor East put in a strong performance but were narrowly defeated 54–49. The team demonstrated excellent batting partnerships and disciplined bowling, keeping the match competitive until the final overs.
Girls Rounders
The Girls Rounders team narrowly missed out in a very tight contest, going down 16–15. The girls showed incredible resilience and fought right to the final inning in one of the most exciting games of the day.
Boys Rounders
The Boys Rounders team played a thrilling match, finishing in a hard-fought 9–9 draw. It was a fantastic display of skill in both batting and fielding, with neither team able to gain the upper hand.
Boys Hot shots
The Boys Hot Shots team battled hard in a fast-paced match, finishing with a 26–26 draw. It was an evenly matched contest with great teamwork and consistent scoring throughout.
Girls Hot shots
The highlight of the day came from the Girls Hot Shots team, who secured a fantastic 28–19 victory. Their energy, communication, and accurate shooting proved too strong for the opposition.
Overall, it was a wonderful day of sport for Lalor East Primary School. All students represented the school with pride and should be congratulated for their effort, teamwork, and positive attitudes.
