Mullauna Art Show 2024

On the evening of 10 October, we opened our annual Mullauna Art Show in the PAC! 

A fabulous evening was enjoyed by many students, families and visitors. 

The night was hosted by our two senior Visual Arts Captains, Lauren Baker (Year 12) and Leroy Szabo (Year 11). They spoke briefly about the importance of the Arts, followed by some wise words from Mr McMillin (Acting Principal). Ms Holmes (Head of Visual Arts) spoke about the teacher's perspective and then introduced our Guest Speaker and former student Mel Calleja, who is now Lecturer of Applied Innovation @Swinburne Design Factory. Mel spoke about her journey since graduating in 2013, and her positive words were of great encouragement to everyone in attendance.

VCE Art, Media and VCD work was the highlight of the show, with this year’s students raising the bar in their creativity and technical abilities! A number of artworks by junior students were also on show.

VCE Awards were presented to the following students:

During the course of the following 3 days, we had the opportunity to showcase our amazing creative Artwork to our local community.  This included five local schools, and the show was enjoyed by students in Grade 4 and 5.

Thanks to all staff and students involved, and especially to Jess Anderson for her work setting up the VCD work and supervising the Bump Out; Jacquie Brush for the  Media work and Paula Waller for supplying some of the junior artwork. Thanks also to all of the Staff who exhibited work and those that willingly helped on the holidays and on the night (Kathleen, Lisa and Belinda (Food) , Luke, Joel and our Raffle ticket seller Louise!)  The AV team and Musicians who once again, all did a sterling job. I also wish to acknowledge and thank the MC Parents and Community Association for their help with food and drink service.
