Principal's News

principal@olgcdeepdene.catholic.edu.au

Dear Parents and Carers,

As December quickly approaches we find ourselves in a "busy" time of the year with lots of different things happening, whether at home or at school.  On Monday our leaders lead us on our first Advent liturgy for 2024. The manner in which the students were reverend and engaged was amazing. Our next Advent liturgy will be next Monday at 9.00am

The staff are currently working on class lists in preparation for our Yr 1-6 orientation session on the 11th.  If there is anyone who not informed us that their child is not returning to OLGC in 2025 can you please let myself know or the office.

Prep/Foundation 2025

The second of our transition sessions for our Prep 2025 students will be held this Thursday. It is an exciting time for them. The first session was very successful and the children enjoyed spending time in the classroom and getting to know their other classmates.

If you see any new families around the school please say hello.

Swimming

Swimming for ALL students commences next week. As you are aware the children will be walking to Camberwell Grammar for their lessons. Volunteers are still required! You will find more information further along in the newsletter.

Class Structure 2025

The following is the class structure for 2025.

Prep x 1

Yr 1/2  x 2

Yr 3/4  x 2

Yr 5/6  x 2

This structure  was decided upon in consultation with the School Advisory Council and based on our current enrolments and an analysis of our funding arrangements.

Further information regarding staffing for 2025 will be provided shortly.

Principal Update

At this stage there is no further information regarding the appointment of a new Principal. I will let you know immediately once I become aware.
