Term 3 Wrap Up

As another term comes to a close, we reflect on the many opportunities our students have had to participate across academics, sport, and extra-curricular events.

Throughout the term, a key focus under our Living Well, Learning Well framework has been respect for the school environment and resources. We appreciate the effort most of our students have put into looking after our facilities and equipment. Class recipients for the LWLW award this term are recognised below.

Ahead of next term, please check and replenish your child's personal classroom supplies over the break. Having all necessary materials ready from Day 1 helps ensure students are organised and ready to learn.

Public Speaking Finals Success

Congratulations to all the students on their amazing efforts writing and presenting their speeches. The themes were from an engaging array of topics, ranging from convincing arguments for Fruit vs Vegetables, Why Teachers Should Wear a Uniform, and Why Going to School on the Bus is Better Than Going with Mum, to intriguing explorations of Playing Cards, Farming, Paradoxes, Tiny but Deadly, and Taking Over Year 3 for a Day. Speakers also tackled inspiring persuasive arguments including Why Everyone Should Give Little Athletics a Go, Why Every Family Should Houseswap Overseas, Gender Bias in Sport, What is More Important: Maths or English?, and Is a Holiday Really a Holiday Without Technology?, alongside big-picture issues like The Great Barrier Reef and Coral Bleaching, The Olympics, Do We Need Autonomous Vehicles?, and Beyond Earth, Do We Really Need Astronauts?.

The topics were engaging for the audience, and all students delivered their well-rehearsed speeches with confidence. The finals proved to be a great experience for all our Primary students to be part of.

We thank Mr Maddigan for coming to adjudicate and for sharing quality feedback to all our speakers.

If you would like to speak with the classroom teacher, please arrange a mutually convenient time to meet or leave a message at the front office for the teacher to get back to you. 

Please try to avoid just popping into a classroom in the morning when the classroom teacher is preparing for the day's learning.
