Dear Sacred Heart Community,

Another fantastic week of learning and laughter at Sacred Heart as we welcomed in the new season of Spring! The caterpillars are in abundance, the wattle is starting to bloom and the veggies in the garden are finally getting the warmth they need. All perfect for our units of Inquiry around Creation and Biological Science.

As you can see in the photo above, the senior students were fortunate enough to have a training session with a champion basketballer of yesteryear who is also a grandparent of one of our school leaders, Cody in Year 6. Thanks Pete for sharing your knowledge and expertise...the kids loved it!

MACSSIS Surveys are now out!                   And we need your help!

Each year around this time Melbourne Archdiocese Catholics Schools (MACS) send out surveys, asking students, staff and parents to contribute to school improvement by answering questions regarding school performance. These surveys are used by Leadership and staff to acknowledge the great work being done at Sacred Heart, as well as providing opportunities for growth. Your input is highly valued and eagerly sought. Please see me this week if you would like to participate in the survey. It's easy to access, is all voluntary and is totally confidential. Thanks in advance for your help with this. 

Transition #1 done and dusted!

Last Thursday we welcomed our new Foundation students for 2027 into our school, with engaging activities and support from some of our Year 5 students, Arvin, Olivia, Georgia and Audrey. It was impressive as to how well they settled in to the new spaces and really enjoyed their time. It was really nice to also meet new parents and welcome them into our wonderful community.

Learning Support Officers ~  Rebecca Thompson

This week I wanted to highlight the wonderful work Rebecca does at our school. As a Learning Support Officer, Rebecca works closely with individual students in the Year 3/4 area, providing them with extra support that is needed for them to access the school curriculum. Rebecca's caring nature means that she not only works closely with individual students, but also provides support for all students in this year level and is a fantastic colleague for the teachers she works closely with. As a staff member she brings her thoughtful, nurturing manner (and culinary skills!) into the staffroom and is respected by all who work with her. Thanks Rebecca for everything you do at Sacred Heart... you're a star!
