🐛 Silkworm Eggs – Free to a Good Home!

We have some silkworm eggs available and would love to share them with families who are interested in raising silkworms at home!

Raising silkworms is a fantastic hands-on science activity for children. It gives them the opportunity to observe a complete life cycle up close – from tiny eggs, to growing silkworms, to cocoons and finally moths. The whole process takes approximately 6–8 weeks from hatching to becoming a moth, making it a great little project to observe over time.

🌿 IMPORTANT – Please check that you have access to a mulberry tree before requesting eggs.

Once the silkworms hatch, they need a regular supply of fresh mulberry leaves to eat – and as they grow, they eat a surprising amount! Please make sure you know where you will be able to collect mulberry leaves throughout the time you are caring for them.

Before requesting eggs, please have a quick read through the care information here:

If you’ve read the information, have access to mulberry leaves and would like some eggs, please let Ms Weston know!🐛🌿
