Acting Principal's Update
Happy Father's Day for Sunday!
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." — Psalm 107:1
It has been an extraordinary fortnight across our school, filled with immense student initiative, community spirit, and hard work behind the scenes.
Our senior students recently celebrated their Year 11 & 12 Formal, and by all accounts, it was an absolute success. Although I wasn't able to attend in person, I’ve heard glowing feedback about how brilliantly run the evening was and how impeccably our seniors represented the King's community.
That same leadership was on full display at our Year 11 Trivia Night. The students put in an incredible amount of hustle behind the scenes, sourcing local business support, setting up the space, running the games, and staying late to pack down. A special shoutout goes to Tim for keeping the night moving smoothly as emcee, and to Matthew for his deeply impactful speech. We are also very grateful to David Walkly and the Warrnambool Table Tennis Association for partnering with us to make the event possible.
While the optics of the Acting Principal sitting at the winning table might look suspicious, I can assure you it was Mr. Robertson’s formidable brainpower that carried us to victory despite my best efforts to drag our score down!
Our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences were equally positive, providing a fantastic opportunity to discuss student growth and strengthen the vital partnership between home and school. Thank you to all the parents and carers who took the time to connect with our teaching staff.
Looking ahead, excitement is rapidly building for our upcoming School Production of The Sound of Music. Our talented cast and crew are hard at work bringing this classic to life, and we cannot wait to share the show with you.
Congratulations to the Year 5 & 6 students who have recently been awarded a Principal’s Badge! To earn this honour, students must achieve at least 10 merit awards, including a minimum of two awards in each of our core areas: Classroom Performance, Service and Leadership, and Participation and Representation.
Well done to Alex Gristede, Yana Ayala, Elliana Newton, and Ben Gristede, Tom Schulz, Theo Arms, Mosese Tuisuva and Olivia Newton on this outstanding achievement!
Throughout all these achievements and gatherings, we continue to give thanks to God for His ongoing guidance and for the vibrant, supportive community He has blessed us with.
