A Word from the Principal

Ms Kylie Campbell

A warm welcome to our community

Harmony Day

It was wonderful to have the whole school come together to celebrate Harmony Day.  Thank you to Mrs Altube for organising the day for the whole school.  Mrs Phillips also taught the whole school a song and the day which sounded amazing when they all performed together near the hall.  There was even Bollywood dancing with Gargi, one of our talented students.  The day concluded with a whole school picnic lunch.  These days are an excellent opportunity for our school to all come together to celebrate our backgrounds, cultures and the great school that we are.

PFA Movie Night & Easter Treats

Thank you to everyone who attended our PFA  BBQ and movie night event.  It was absolutely sensational to see the community to come together to enjoy a meal and watch Zootopia which was voted for screening by the students at school.  We hope that your family enjoyed the night and thank you for assisting us to raise some much needed funds for the school.

I would like to thank our enthusiastic PFA and supporting school council members for their efforts on the night.  You should feel proud!  The money raised will go towards our very long wish list and I’m sure the PFA will discuss further after their next activity.

Also a special thanks to our PFA for organising the special treats day for term 1.  This is a terrific way to start our Easter festivities.

Prep Tours for 2026

I have started school tours with our school captains and the office has had many calls and visits for information regarding enrolments at Weeden Heights Primary School for 2027. Tours and enrolment information is available now.  Positions are filling so if you are an existing family, please complete your enrolment form and hand it in at the office.  As you are aware, accurate enrolment numbers ensures that I can staff the school to the standard that we all expect.

If you know anyone who requires assistance with 2026 placements, please direct them to call our office  and speak with Amanda or Sarah to book a tour date and time.

We do rely on the ‘good word’ of our school community to promote the school amongst neighbours and friends. Please assist by talking about the work of the school and your experiences.  Sharing our Facebook and Instagram posts and making comments also assist.   Thank you for helping us with this process.

Next term….Cross Country

A reminder that our annual Cross Country event will be held on Friday 24 April so if your children have a spare moment on the holidays then encourage them to train!

The event will be held at the same reserve as last year so Ms Lewis will be looking for a lot of parent volunteers to assist in manning the checkpoints.  Please put your name forward as it is a great event to support our students.

Students will need to wear their house t-shirts to represent their house and they will be involved in a house chanting competition. Students also have the chance to learn their house chant over the holidays via the Google Classroom.

Parents are reminded that this term will conclude on THURSDAY 2 April at 2.30pm.  Please note the early closing time.  We will conduct our end of term assembly from the hall for the first time at 9am.   Of course parents will be welcome to attend.

Term two will commence on MONDAY 20 April 2026 after a two-week break.  Please take this time to relax with the family as it has been an extremely big term for everyone.  I hope that you all have an incredibly Happy Easter and enjoy a wonderful holiday.  Please stay safe and healthy.

Until next time……

Kylie Campbell
