A message from Miss Russell

Welcome Back to Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope all of our students and families had a wonderful, restful break and are ready for what promises to be another busy and exciting term at Hurstville Public School.

This term is filled with fantastic learning opportunities, sporting events and celebrations. We look forward to seeing our students continue to challenge themselves, grow in confidence and make the most of every opportunity. Thank you for your continued support—we are looking forward to another successful term together.

Athletics Carnival – Tuesday 4 August

Our Athletics Carnival will be held on Tuesday, 4 August at our new venue – Sylvania Waters Athletics Track.

Students have been eagerly preparing for this exciting day, and we look forward to seeing them participate with enthusiasm, teamwork and great sportsmanship.

A reminder to all families to:

  • Return permission notes and payment by the due date.
  • Ensure your child wears their sports uniform, hat and suitable running shoes.
  • Pack plenty of water, recess, lunch and sunscreen, as there is no canteen available at the venue.

We wish all students the very best and look forward to a fantastic carnival.

Education Week and Open Day – Wednesday 5 August

Education Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the outstanding learning taking place in our school every day.

We warmly invite our families to join us for our Open Day on Wednesday, 5 August, where you will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, see students engaged in learning and experience firsthand the wonderful programs and opportunities available at Hurstville Public School.

We look forward to welcoming you into our school community and sharing this special day with you.

Keeping Children Safe Online

As technology continues to play an important role in our children's lives, we encourage all families to remain vigilant about their child's online activities.

Many online games and social media platforms include chat features that allow children to communicate with people they may not know. We encourage parents and carers to:

  • Know what games and apps their child is using.
  • Regularly talk with their child about online safety and respectful behaviour.
  • Set appropriate privacy settings and supervise online interactions.
  • Establish healthy screen time limits and encourage a balanced lifestyle that includes physical activity, family time and adequate sleep.
  • Remind children never to share personal information or communicate with strangers online.

By working together, we can help ensure our children enjoy the many benefits of technology while staying safe, healthy and responsible online.
