Past and Present Mufti Day Monday 3rd August 2026

Celebrating 150 Years of Hurstville Public School

Dear Parents and Carers

As part of our celebrations marking 150 years of Hurstville Public School, we are excited to invite all students to participate in our Past and Present Mufti Day on:

Date: Monday 3 August 2026 (Week 3, Term 3)

Students are encouraged to come dressed in costumes that reflect the theme of "Past and Present". Some ideas include:

Students, teachers or community workers from Hurstville's past
Historical occupations or professions
Clothing styles from previous decades
Any outfit that creatively represents the theme of Past and Present

This special day provides students with an opportunity to celebrate the rich history of our school and community while reflecting on how life has changed over the past 150 years.

Please note that no gold coin donation is required for this mufti day.

We look forward to seeing our students' creativity and enthusiasm as we celebrate this significant milestone in our school's history. Thank you for your support.

Alumni Tour and Q&A

On Monday 27 July, we were delighted to welcome 23 alumni back through our gates for a special tour and Q&A session. Old friends reconnected as they wandered the grounds, revisiting familiar classrooms and marvelling at how much Hurstville Public School has grown since their own days here.

The highlight were lively Q&A sessions in small groups, where our alumni generously shared stories, wisdom, and a few fond memories with staff and students alike.

It was a joy to see so many familiar faces, and a reminder that once part of our community, always part of our community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us — we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
