Now that we have finished reading our novel, X-Box, we have started reading some non-fiction texts to learn about the Colonisation of Australia. Here are some facts we have learned:
Captain James Cook discovered New South Wales in 1770 - Louisa
Captain James Cook wasn't the first European to discover Australia. - Evie
Captain Arthur Phillip raised the flag on the 26th of January and that they stole the land off the aboriginals. - Teagan
The word kangaroo is actually an aboriginal word. The Europeans showed them a picture and the aboriginals said the word. - Ivy
The European people came to Australia and tried to take the Aboriginal land. Some of the Aboriginal people fought for their country, and some of them died.
When the Europeans came, they spread their diseases. - Mila

The British prisons were full of convicts, so they transported them to Australia. -Liam
