Year 12 VM Students Support Cancer Council at Biggest Morning Tea

On Monday 2nd June, our Year 12 Vocational Major students proudly co-hosted The Biggest Morning Tea in partnership with the Beaumaris Children's Playhouse. The event was a wonderful opportunity for students to engage with the local community while supporting a worthy cause.

Our students warmly welcomed guests, collected donations, sold raffle tickets, and manned the BBQ throughout the morning. They also ran a series of engaging activities for the children, including face painting, nail painting, and story time. One of the highlights of the day was the toy drive, where children were invited to choose a toy from a generous selection of donated items to take home.

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we received more toy donations than could be used on the day. These remaining toys will now be distributed to local causes, including the Playhouse itself, maternal health centres, the Bayside Women's Shelter, and other not-for-profit organisations in the area.

The event raised an impressive $1,143 for the Cancer Council, with a special thanks to local Member for Goldstein, Tim Wilson, who attended and donated too.

We’re incredibly proud of our students for their leadership, initiative, and community spirit in making this event such a success.
