I am starting to build a record collection, but I used to have a coin collection as a child—though it was pretty much my mum buying me a coin on special occasions to add to my collection. I don’t actively collect coins at the moment, but I still have my collection somewhere in a box in a cupboard I haven’t looked at for years.
An airplane, because you get to see the world.
Probably pasta, because you can always have a different type of pasta or sauce, and you are never disappointed.
Invisibility, or even better, time travel.
I listen to The Real Science of Sport podcast, where they discuss contemporary issues and research in exercise science and sport. I also enjoy reading when I have time during the holidays.
The most rewarding part for me is seeing students grow as people, overcoming personal and academic challenges. It is so rewarding helping guide students from Year 7 all the way to Year 12 and playing a role in their journey to becoming the best version of themselves.
My favourite genre is mid-2000s indie rock. Arctic Monkeys are one of my favourites.
Sitting on the couch and watching a movie.
I would love to be able to play an instrument without the challenging process of learning one.
'Valerie' by Amy Winehouse, for sure. That’s my go-to song!
Italy: the food, the sun, the people—it’s so nice. I’m going there again this year with my fiancé, visiting Italy's Adriatic Coast and Sicily, and I can't wait for the warm weather.
I wanted to be a range of different things: a dentist, photographer, journalist, chiropractor, and a sports star.
My students.
A student in my class. (“Is that funny?” – Mr Walsh)
I’ve been told Channing Tatum, but I would say one of the Hemsworth brothers. Not Chris or Liam, though—the third Hemsworth brother.
I chose to work at Beaumaris because I couldn’t think of a greater challenge than being a foundation member of a school and creating an exciting and engaging learning experience from a blank slate.
Thanks, Mr Walsh!
