Junior School

你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families, 

We are halfway through our swimming program and students have shown an amazing amount of responsibility when organising themselves for their lessons. Swimming will continue this week, however as the program is unable to be run on Tuesday 24th, this day will be made up in the following week. As you already know, the following guidelines will continue this week:

• Students should wear their swimming gear to school under their school uniform.
• Students will need to bring their school bag and a separate swimming bag.
• In the swimming bag, please include:
• Shoes to wear to the pool (crocs, flip flops, or other swimming-appropriate footwear)
• Goggles
• A towel
• Underwear
• A plastic bag for wet swimming gear
• Students should wear their normal school shoes to school. Just before leaving for the pool, they will change into their swimming footwear to walk to the pool.

Across the Junior school, students are enjoying text studies during English sessions. During these sessions, students are retelling and exploring themes, characters and settings from a variety of narrative texts. Year 2 students will continue to look at informative texts as they report on non-fiction details of animals and places. 

In Mathematics, each level has been focusing on different topics this week. Foundation students have been counting collections, Year 1s have been measuring time and duration, while Year 2s have been describing turns using directional language. All of these topics are things that you might like to continue practising at home to consolidate learning occurring in the classroom!

Due to time constraints after swimming and the long weekend there will be no pupil of the week awards this week!

Reminders

• Students are to bring Library bags (a cloth bag or tote bag is fine!) on their classes allocated day. Ask your child's teacher if you are not sure when this usually is
• Swimming Program will not run Tuesday March 24th. 
• Hats are to be worn during Term 1
• Digital Technologies Acceptable User Agreements - please return to your child's classroom teacher when signed
• Family Breakfast on April 2nd! More details to come.
• Easter hat parade on April 2nd  

• Pyjama Day April on 2nd  

  We encourage families to bring in any non-perishable food, which will be donated to families affected by the fires.
