Kindy Bilbies and Rosellas

Our Kindy students have had a fantastic start to the year. They’ve settled beautifully into their new routines—unpacking their bags, joining morning mat sessions, and learning how we work and play together in our classroom. It has been lovely to see their confidence grow as these routines become familiar.

Play based learning has been at the heart of our early weeks. Through building, creating, roleplaying, and exploring both indoors and outdoors, the children have been developing important social skills, practising problem solving, and following their natural curiosity. We’ve already seen wonderful moments of teamwork, imagination, and independence emerging.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful year ahead as our Kindy students continue to explore, discover, form friendships, and nurture their love of learning.

Year 5 Bandicoots and Dingoes

We have had a great start to Year 5 and it’s hard to believe that Term 1 is already nearly finished! Over the past few weeks, we have spent time setting personal learning goals and focusing on what it means to use a growth mindset. We’ve talked about recognising the things we are already good at, as well as identifying the areas we want to improve in. By reflecting on our strengths and challenges, we’ve begun building positive habits that will help us learn, persevere and stay confident throughout the year. We created our Yeti monsters using our new phrase- ‘I can’t do it YETi.’

In HASS, we have been learning about the difference between needs and wants, and exploring the three types of resources people use to make decisions. We have also been practising how to budget, compare prices and work out what offers the best value. For our assessment project, we have been planning a party for 20 people with a budget of $100. To help us stay within our limit, we’ll be using websites such as Woolworths, Coles and Big W to research prices and make smart choices. It’s been a fun and practical way to learn about money, planning and responsible decision-making.
